Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a professional laser treatment that uses Q-Switch Nd:YAG laser technology to target tattoo ink beneath the skin. The laser breaks the ink into tiny particles, which the body’s immune system gradually clears away, fading and eventually removing the tattoo.

Most people describe the sensation as uncomfortable but tolerable, often compared to a rubber band snap on the skin. Built-in cooling systems and topical numbing are commonly used to reduce discomfort during the procedure.

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. The number of sessions depends on: Tattoo size, age, ink density, ink color, location on the body and skin type/color. A typical course: 6–12 sessions, spaced 6–8 weeks apart to allow healing and ink removal between treatments.

Many tattoos can be significantly or fully removed, but results vary. Some tattoos may leave a light shadow or faint pigment, especially if the ink was very dense, the tattoo is older or certain colors were used. During your consultation, the provider will give you a realistic expectation based on your specific tattoo.

After a session, it’s common to see redness, swelling, temporary tenderness or blistering. These usually resolve within a few days. Protecting the treated area from sun and following aftercare instructions will help optimize healing and reduce risks.
